Yes! My nerdy time to shine!
Depends on what kinda gamer you are. If your more of a serious one, then defo choose the 360, as it gets a loada games released for it so there's a better mix of games, plus the online play is awesome. The games tend to run smoother and look better too, as its more powerful than the Wii.
The Wii tends to be aimed more for kids, but its still awesome fun with a game like mario party or the Wii sports, so it's good if you dont tend to play games that much or you tend to play them with other people (in which case I would REALLY recommend Mario Party 8). It does obv still get some other games the 360 gets, but with the Wii controller can be harder to use as opposed to a regular controller.

Bollocks to you and both. The PS3 has MGS4 on it and the delightful Little Big Planet on which I have made a diminutive Beige Baron replete with waxed moustache, hun helmet, and an eternally depressed expression.
Erego:
Wii: For the overactive, hyperactive, and psychotic who belt people across the side of the head when they are losing and say 'Oh. Sorry. Didn't know you were so close.'
360: For those who like to sit and stare at a little red ring of death, or sit and play a machine whilst feeling ever so slightly inferior to that portion of clever little sausages who invested in the...!
PS3: For the more discerning gamer who prefers the gaming equivalent to fine mulled wine as opposed to the brashness that is underclass beverages. Let us toast to the paragon of elegance and excellence! *Harumph*

fair points! however the ps3 is just a bit too expensive for me at the mo! i will only upgrade to a ps3 later if i am convinced that it will play ps1 and ps2 games! i heard that it cant do that at the mo! if i had a ps3, i would want to sit down 1 night a play something like tekken 3 or theme hospital for a laugh!

Bear in mind you don't just get energetic games on the wii. I went out and bought a CSI game for my sister's wii (not my sister, just the wii. And me, when it comes down to it.) and you just sit and point the remote at the screen.
It's way easier than the PC version for some reason. In fact it's so easy I've nearly finished. (Which reminds me, I haven't played it in ages...)
Anyway, what are you talking about, "serious gamers"? Games are meant to be fun! The games consoles were invented for entertainment, not for competition between different. If you ask me, they're all basically the same thing, just a different way of playing them.

Well, with seriousness, if you compare Mario party on the Wii and Fallout 3 on the 360, both are really fun to play. But there is a difference in seriousness between playing a lot of minigames as your fav mario character, and shooting the face off of mutant creatures with a hunting rifle!

Gaaaaawd I hate it when it comes to fanboys and consoles. Stewart, I'm looking at you.
Xbox 360 has the most games on the market, looks better than wii and is less expensive than ps3.
Xbox for the win. This is coming form a guy who has both a wii and a 360 and I play the 360 so much more than the wii.

Fanboy and Stockboy join psyches to become-!
Gameshop Boy! Replete with bad breath, acne, and puny arms!
In retrospect, that was not a good fusion of psyches, said Gameshop Boy, his voice muffled slightly by his inhaler.

Um, yes, OK...
But, anyway, Hazel, what one did you get?
Oh and my wee sister got a wii fit! Lots of fun to be had!... When my mum lets us take over the television.

Yes, Hazel. Fascinate us all by regaling us with your choice of console. You may say it is awesome and accompany it with a smily face, if you so wish.

Stewart, your sarcasm has grown in bounds in recent memory. And I love you for it.

So you like it best when bands swing their bodies to drip sweat onto you and now you are smooching me.
Oh! Joe! I never knew...

Your sarcasm is a terrible infliction. I think you should see your local doctor.
Speaking of doctors... have you seen who the new Doctor Who is? (It's not that exciting, but I thought I'd ask.)

Affliction, not infliction. And if getting cured of sarcasm meant becoming a boringly generic bastard who says safe things like 'OMG!!!!!' or 'LOL!' then I'd rather take the euthanasia option.
And, yes, I've seen him. My God was I disappointed; I was expecting a female doctor after what the script writer said. That would have been an interesting angle to keep the show fresh but, sadly, not meant to be. The new guy has a colossal chin.
You could raise ships with that chin.

Think how rich you would be if you could single-handedly raise ships with your chin?
The titanic? Ha! No problem! *lifts with chin*
