Strip joint sounds like the best idea yet.

Nothing like watching naked women dance about to make you forget how bitterly alone and unloved you are.
No, seriously.

All this over some guy's funeral.
A guy who was the patron saint of bee-keeping, plague and epileptics. (As well as the normal stuff, but still...)

You're all a bunch of cynical bastards and I for one shall not be dragged down into your soul crushing vacuum of misery.
However, at the same time I'm not going to bore you with the Hallmark card pish that's supposed to perform a miracle and make you all feel loved. Let's face it, it would be a waste of precious words and wisdom. You wouldn't believe me no matter what I said.

I wasn't trying to be cynical; I was trying to cheer everyone up.
So to cheer you up:
Well, I actually don't know what to say.
Handy though; all the schools get their half term at the same time. That's two excuses to party for them! Not so for us.
It's also handy cause it's the start of spring then. Or there abouts. It's like Bambi in humans. ;D

I'm bitter about almost everything just now, not just anti-singles day.

I know. I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean to take it out on you, I just didn't get to read anything apart from yours and Stewarts.

I know how to cheer people up; with one of my poems!
I would not care If you were a bear
I would not frown If you were a clown
I would not gripe If you were a pipe
I would not moan If you were a stone
I would not whine If you were a sign
I would not cringe If you were a hinge
I would not huff If you were a scruff
I would not sigh If you were a fly
I would not weep If you were a sheep
;D

I wonder if that's a sneakily disguised list of things you would have sex with.

It sort of ends with sheep being the last word in love. I was expecting a more finite ending.

I quite like 'sheep' being the last word in love. And a lack of closure is a common feature in modernist and post-modernist poetry and prose, which are the only styles I can think to put any of Euan's poetry in.

I don't think Euan's poetry can be described as being in those styles. I think it's just Euan's.

I'm a history student. I need closure in everything. Usually this means horrible horrible deaths.
Today I educated a foreigner on the phrase sheep-shagging bastards and who it should be directed to in the form of a chant. That's me done my bit for globalisation.
