So I think we should have a movie day with terrible/awesome/terribly awesome Eighties movies. For bonus points, we should watch them all on VHS, in true Eighties style. Though if we can only find DVD copies of vital movies (such as Terminator 2 aw crap, apparently T2 wasn't released until 1991), I guess we can settle for that.
LOCATION OPTIONS: my flat with the tiny TV/video combo, or my parents' house with a much more respectable TV and more room to, y'know, breathe. (They're away at some point in mid-August. I can confirm dates later.)
MOVIES: if you have any old videos lying around, check their Eighties status and let me know! On my part, I know for sure I have:
-WarGames -The Empire Strikes Back -Return of the Jedi -Top Gun -An American Tail -and I think my parents have Wrath Of Khan, but I'm not sure.
But really, I just came up with this because I realised I totally want to watch Top Gun with y'all (especially after seeing the atrocity that is Interview With A Vampire), so if we can fit that into a different movie day, 's cool too

why has no one else replied to this yet. Oh, you all keep semi-normal sleep patterns. I see. Anyway...
AT RISK OF SOUNDING LIKE A SCIENTOLOGIST: I am adding Cocktail to the list and shall scour charity shops for copies of it on video over the next month. Cause, dude, DUDE, duuude -- we should totally buy a bar.

Sadly all my VHS disappeared a good long while ago. However, I do have a lot of 80's movies on DVD. For example: Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, Gremlins, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Scarface, The Lost Boys, Airplane and Airplane 2: The Sequel, Naked Gun, The Man With Two Brains, The Blues Brothers, Monty Python's The Meaning of Life, Roxanne, Beetlejuice, Batman, The Goonies and Beverly Hills Cop I & II.
Actually, that's all of them. Excluding the ones we recently watched such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit and the first two Back To The Futures.

Bugger, I nearly forgot.
I also have Conan the Barbarian and Highlander.

I've got both Ghostbusters and the original Transformers The Movie on video. Probably quite a few others, but I'd need to go and check...

I may, and this's a long-shot, have a Police Squad: In Colour! video lying in a box somewhere. It's an even longer shot that it still works but if it does, it'll blow The Naked Gun films out of the water (plus we've seen THE Naked Gun films SO MANY TIMES).

True. I could always bring my Police Squad: In Colour! DVD as a back-up to Stewart's video.

I think we have Highlander on video. And we definitely have Braveheart.
The rest of any 80s films we have are taped off the TV and may not work seeing as the last time we tried to watch one, we had to get a video cleaner and it never worked... RIP Wallace and Gromit...
And I have Disney films but I'm unsure as to the years. And I think, if we watch any Disney films, we should have a day of Disney...

I'm going to remind you that Braveheart is a 90's film. That way we don't have to go through the tedious argument of why it is a historically inaccurate piece of irradiated haggis.
If you're unsure of a date just look the film up on imdb.com

I cannot be bothered. We seem to have quite a bit, anyway.
However, most of the videos around here will be from the 90s cause that's when I was born...
And we have Mannequin on video. Which I have yet to watch...

We'll Skype you, Tom. My brother's laptop has a decent webcam, so we'll set it up in front of the TV for you.
