Ack it's salvageable. I have listened to the adverts. I made my judgement based on that. Seemed rather samey.
Hijack time!
Why not share hilarious times spent at concerts? Like for instance last night I was taken to see Nightwish by the small one and I dragged her to the front by following a very fat guy who was used as a cannonball by his friends. The desired space was agreed upon and with an almighty shout fat guy threw himself at the crowd while we all followed him before everyone else could recover. Very effective tactics especially since the crowd was ridiculously tame. I mean even Feeder had a mosh pit and that was after their drummer had died and they were all gloomy.
Now regale us with your tales of interest.

Ended up with a bloody face after a Flogging Molly concert once. Who knew the Irish could be so violent?
Went to a Modest Mouse concert about this time last year, and there were a group of people standing at the front of the room (not quite at the barriers) just... standing. They just stood and watched while everyone else jumped about and had a good time. Everytime someone came near them they shrugged them off. Now if you know a little about Modest Mouse, then you might know that there's animosity between old fans and new fans - old fans liking to listen, new fans liking to jump etc etc - and this battle was being put well on display with the four douchebags standing front and centre taking up a huge amount of space because they were so arrogantly determined.
That is, until someone flykicked one in the face.
It was honestly the best concert ever...

Scouting For Girls= wall punching. It's that enjoyable! (Please note sarcasm). My not-so-hilarious-but-memorable-gig-events: (I hate that most of these will have something to do with breasts, but that's just the way I'm made.) I got two bands to sign my chest once. The drummer was like: I really shouldn't be doing this! I replied: Don't worry. My dad's gone home Went to a festival where I'm from with a huge amount of friends. My best friend took her top off, convinced me to take mine off, and then we convinced all of our friends and some strangers to take their's off too. We were right at the barrier, so I'm surprised there weren't pictures. Some guy came up to me afterwards and was like: Can I get a picture of you with your knockers out? (how polite, might I add) And he got his GIRLFRIEND to take the picture. Further hijack: The best gig/concert you've ever been to?

Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
It was the first concert I went to by myself shortly after a disastrous break-up where I: got hit on by a drunk guy, which while creepy was a huge ego boost at the time, made friends with a gorgeous drunk girl who danced with me as we pushed our way to the front and we sang along to every song. I dunno if anybody's ever listened to the yeah yeah yeahs but most of their songs are basically just crazy orgasm sounds. It was freakin amazing.
Close second is The Strokes mostly because I expected a terrible crowd and was pleasantly surprised. The support act was this guy in a trilby who sang lounge music and had everybody dancing and feeling really mellow and happy and then the strokes came on and the crowd exploded and I was dragged half-way across the floor and ended up at the barrier where a very helpful girl pulled my top back on. Course then there was the gig I went to where we tried to have a pizza delivered and I may have tried to eat a girl's hair because it smelt of apricots but funnily enough I don't remember what concert that was.

--REVIVAL OF THREAD--
At the Drive-In? Anyone heard of them? It's basically the leader of The Mars Volta before he went all crazy and experimental. It's good alterna-metal stuff that really digs into my eardrums with sing-a-longisity.
Also, Miles Davis is always a winner in my books. He can blow my trumpet any day of the week (except Sundays, that's when Coltrane's away fingering my sax)

At the drive-in was actually two members of The Mars Volta. I'm being pedantic and I don't care!
Jazz wise I never know who I'm actually listening to except Ella Fitzgerald who's sang pretty much everything. And because it's all connected when I was looking for Summertime by her I found this amazing cover by Janis Joplin. It's an entirely different song. Real mellow and the guitar is freakin orgasmic. A sort of slow building one though rather than a big wham.

And since I just remembered that Joe decided to make up stuff and claim he was a bigger fan of the mars volta than I, which came from god knows where cause it's not like we ever discussed the band to any extent, and since I just found a whole bunch of old cds during a tidy: De Facto is like the transition band between At The Drive-in and The Mars Volta. Things get all whooshy and nonsensical. If you like noises, and who doesn't, you will enjoy them. There's a song called manual dexterity that sounds like some sort of Marioesque video game. That's how you know it is awesome.
Other stuff I found was mostly crap that made me feel all nostalgic, like Funeral for a Friend. Bands of note were Head Automatica who used to be good to dance around to but I seem to remember them being better than a replay implied. And Hot Hot Heat who wrote perfect singalongs for when nobody else is in the house, Jingle Jangle being one of their best.

Oh man, Funeral used to be awesome. My fringe would just turn black all by itself when I listened to them.
And in the Mars Volta/At the Drive-In conversation that we totally did have (after the guy assaulted us about the concert) you did not say a thing while I rambled on and on about it. I naturally assumed you did not like them.
Also, check out Scab Dates the Mars Volta. It's a bizarrely surreal live set they performed somewhere in Mexico.
Some of my nostalgia picks would beeeee;
Brand New - May be nostalgia but still a guilty pleasure these days. I just love the heavy rock guitaring under not-very-deep lyrics. And they're always so sad, I felt the need to listen to cheer them up.
Our Lady Peace - A relic from my sixth year days. Popy rock with a good beat. Also slightly emo.
Gogol Bordello - Eastern European gypsy punk band that promises to rape your ears in the most delightful way possible. Might remember them from the song "Wearing Purple" but if not then you should.
Less Than Jake - Punk/ska band that got me into the scene back in fifth year. Brilliant to kick to, but a bit samey after a while.
aaaaaaaaaand
The Doors - Because who doesn't want to have sex with Jim Morrison? My Dad used to stick some of them on in the car trips to his house (that is, before he changed to weird Singaporean pop). Everytime I hear "This is the End" I think of a mixture between vietnam and dying in the back of a Ford Escort in the scorching heat of a traffic jam. One in the same I guess.

You assumed wrong, it was he I was not interested in and since he stopped talking to me after you joined the conversation I'm assuming you cockblocked him.
Communist John once stole my ipod to listen to Gogol Bordello and started dancing in the middle of the room in a hula skirt by himself. I can't listen to them now without seeing that.
