The film's on tomorrow night. I shall be watching it... unless my parents make me go to bed...

The film was pretty good (Marvin is spectacular) but I'm told the TV show was even better. Maybe it's on YouTube (though I haven't checked).

I've found clips from it, but I've been doing other things to actually watch the whole lot.
I've heard that the radio show, books, TV show, and film are all slightly different.

The film has Zooey Deschanel in it and therefore is instantly good. Other than her it was fairly enjoyable and like the books in tone if not content.
If you do not know who Zooey Deschanel is, look her up in google images. Go on. You will see she is the cutest thing. The cutest thing.
Her name is from Salinger and she sings sweet country songs and she is the best.

Ever since Almost Famous I've very much enjoyed everything Zooey Deschanel has been in, her looks, her voice, everything about her is steller. As for the Hitchikers guide, the TV series is much better than the film because it captures the mood and flow of the radio series in a way that the film didn't. However, the Trillian from the TV series was the one character that I found lacking, but Zooey brings her back to life in the film. Now if I could merge the film Trillian into the TV series I'd probably black out with sheer enjoyment
