OK everyone! I’m arranging one of many movie days for Rebecca so she can watch movies that should have been watched years ago! What Saturdays in the next month (not including tomorrow) are most people likely to be free? It will take place at mine, starting at around 11am and last into the night(obviously folk will be allowed to stay the night!). The first lot of movies are Dazed and Confused, Wayne’s World, Fern Gully, Empire Records, Moulin Rouge, Beetlejuice and Planet Terror. Did I also mention there will be pizza and munchies?

Well, excuse me! (See Holes for how it actually sounds.) Anyhow, how come I didn't get to choose which ones we watched. I wanted to see the omen. I was going to point out that I could be busy during the month, thus putting all your plans to pot! Then I saw the fact that there will be pizza and munchies, so I will definitely be there! (I still don't see why you got to choose...)

I choose because I arranged it! (You will find I'm actually good at arranging stuff!) And there will be more than pizza there cos the meal deal might not be enough! Booze is allowed if you bring it! Or bring money to buy some down on Duke Street! And it depends which Omen you are talking about! after all, there are five of them...

The only good bit in the original Omen was when he sets his mother on fire. It was disturbing because of the silence with which the flame-enveloped figure flailed, smashed into some shelves and then collapsed. If ever someone needs setting on fire in a story, that's the scene I think of.
Films. So many good films. I want suggestions for films. Now. And if someone tries to re-direct my enquiry to the Films thread then the CONSEQUENCES WILL BE DIRE!

Would anyone majorly disagree if I arranged the Movie Day for Saturday 7th March? It gives me time to un-nuke my flat!
What types of films would you like suggestions for? Eg comedy, thriller...

For Stewart:
Brick: the amazing modern day noir story set in a drug saturated high school. Classic stuff.
City of God: Too good for words.
Fight Club: You've probably seen this already, but if you haven't then what's wrong with you?
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Makes me think of all past relationships, and how every wish to forget my regrets are stupid. It's an al;most tear-jerker for me.
aaaaaaaand
Ferris Bueller's Day Off: Classic teen film. Stars Matthew Broderick before he became an idiot.

March is only a stones throw away. Might I add Death Proof to the list? Planet Terror is the better film, but I still think Death Proof is good. Plus, they are supposed to make up a combo. Ah, Grindhouse. If only the Americans understood the concept, you could've been so much more.

Yeah when you think about it though, the 7th March is only a week and a half away! Deathproof isn't such a bad idea! I think there might be some time after Planet Terror! Grindhouse rocks!

Ok, I'm sorry... I love the overused cliche' proverbs as much as the next writer but how can you throw a stone and hit March? Seriously? Does this stone bend the fabric of space time and scone March between the eyes? Are we going to wake up on Sunday and feel like the month has been stoned slightly? Unless you bring calenders into the equation (which you shouldn't because a calender is only an artist's impression of March, sadly not the real McCOY), there is no way March can be a stones throw away. Wh... What was this thread about? Oh! Films! I like that idea! I'm not going to suggest any films because I would very much like to see the ones listed already and unless we bring back the space time bending stone we won't be able to fit all of them in a fun filled day

A very good point! I think it also depends on the strength of your arm as well! Anyway, don't worry about fitting all the movies into one day(even with the help of a magic stone) because there will be plenty of movies days in the near future!!

Why is there always something that pops up on the subject of time and space?
And what the hell is the Grindhouse?
And for that matter Death Proof?
I probably read the blurb (if that's what you call the thing on the back of the DVD) of Planet Terror, but what was it about again? There are too many movies I haven't seen, I've kind of blocked them out of my memory.
It has been replaced with the memory of buying the fourth Futurama film today! Can't wait till I get a chance to sit down and watch it! Or, for that matter, to sit down, without having something to do...

Death Proof is a film by Quentin Tarantino starring Kurt Russell with cars and women and guns. Planet Terror is a film by Robert Rodriguez which has zombies and strippers and guns. 'Grindhouse' is the two together... like, they were made as a pair, even though they don't really have much in common, but they were screened one after the other in some cinemas. I think there was more too it, but I haven't seen Death Proof so blah.
What happened to the "I am in the internetz" epiphany? You could look it up...
