James Cameron is back, and on excellent form. Screw Speilberg and Lucas, this is how an old school director should make new movies.
Don't listen to any online naysayers about computer character graphics and lack of a decent story. These are the same people who don't have a decent grasp of the english language or all ten fingers, if their typing is any indication.
Do believe legitimate sources and their opinons as they have got right on the money. The story draws parallels between recent and current events perfectly, giving the viewer plenty to think about, but at the same time, the amount of action still makes for an enjoyable finale. Fans of District 9 will love Avatar.
The only critcisms I can make would be that firstly, the age of the pop-buster is over. Having said that, Leona Lewis is singing over the end credits, so really you'll be leaving the cinema at this point. No big problem there. Secondly, subtitles and 3D are a little bit jarring, but they don't feature heavily so it's easy to overlook.
Overall, I encourage as many people to go see this movie as possible. It's the perfect way to spend a bleak, cold winter evening and you certainly won't regret it.

I have realised several things after watching it. Actually, my first point I realised while we were watching it.
1) There are a couple of plot points that are so obviously key to the whole good winning over evil that it was like they were holding up a cue card and yelling at us.
2) Afterwards I realised that most of the story is parallel to Disney's version of Pocahontas.
3) Part of it was also like Disney's version of The Little Mermaid.
The funniest thing that happened when I went to see it was that someone let go of two helium balloons from Pizza Hut and they had to stop in the middle of the Toy Story trailer (which was in 3D also) to try to get them down/pop them. They succeeded in this task with the very technical apparatus of a long pole with a fork on the end, changed to someone's badge when it was realised that the fork swiveled too much!

From now on, I'm going to compare all films to The Little Mermaid.
