Today is Election Day. If you haven't already voted by post, go to your local polling station and mark a box. I don't care who you vote for. I am entirely uninterested, I do not want a discussion on it, just don't vote for Palpatine and we're cool. This is a really patronising post. The fact that it exists, even. I know that and don't care. Just makin' it to remind, IDK, the lurkers that OH YEAH today is THAT DAY and stuff. ...I wanted to add sparkly text but the forums don't like HTML, apparently. Big text will have to suffice: VOTE VOTE VOTEExcept Tom #2. Sucks being a child, I guess.

There wasn't room to add Kieron to the ballot paper...
I stood and panicked in the booth for a moment before I noticed there was a poster right in front of my nose telling me exactly what to do in words of one syllable.

I didn't even get that far before freezing up. I stood blankly in front of the dude at the desk for a second before going, "Er, er, what do I--" But he didn't laugh, so we're cool.
I'm now watching C4's alternative coverage. I don't usually like Jimmy Carr, but I am amused.

Yeah, it is quite funny. what I'm hearing of it, anyway.
And I knew basically what to do: hand over the wee register card thing, take ballot paper mark a cross, put it in ballot box.
And that was before they told me what to do before I voted.
Oh, yeah... I voted in a Portakabin today! ;D

I voted in a church. It felt a bit like I was back in a youth club, actually.
I'm now watching the BBC coverage because C4's Alternative Election Night is over. Sadness. This isn't as funny; I may have to drink even more to make up for it.

So, on the plus(?) side, it looks like we're almost definitely headed for a hung parliament rather than any clear majority. IDK. I've never really understood how this country's politics work. Can we just put Andy in charge? I think that having a future position as Writers' Society President should be enough to qualify. He'd be better than Cameron or Brown, anyway.

I am saddened that my name would not fit on the ballot paper... but what upsets me more is that my plan for the next election is foiled, as I cannot run for multiple constituencies, and therefore cannot become the FIRST EVER Independant Prime Minister...

I wasn't allowed to vote under law as I have no fixed address and therefore cannot register as a voter. So, yes, I am technically a hobo. And I fully intend to campaign on the behalf of the homeless to have them and myself included in the electoral franchise!
Voters! Next year there is a new voice in the country! A voice for equality and the right to vote for all, no matter how scummy their shoeless feet may be! Vote for me, and my newly formed Hobo Go-Go Action Force Party!
