"Dispel the Illusion"? Really? I shouldn't even need to roll for that. I'd look at Zev, feel a pang of guilt and then explain that any haunting will have to wait until after we're not dead ourselves. (Obvoiusly the illusion would disappear and I'd probably slip into a slightly deeper depression at the lack of closure, but I'd get over it.)
Still, if you really want me to...
Dispel the Illusion Roll: 10
On the off chance that you accept my reasoning regarding how I'd deal with the ghost of Zev, you'll probably want a roll for blocking the sewage pipe. Don't ask me what I'm blocking it with, I'll use whatever's to hand. I'll rip up remaining areas of my shirt if necessary. Hell, my original plan could still work, I'll block it with bits of machine. It'll just have to be bits of the surrounding machine as opposed to the robo-guard.
Stop the Sewage Roll: 9
Let's conclude this chapter. One way or another.

Well, the illusion is a little like a hallucination when you're ill or feverish; you know that it's not real but the brain 'lives' it, causing the feelings of discomfort, etc. This thing is messing around with your brain, remember, and the brain can be made to release chemicals to induce anxiety, etc.
And don't worry about the pipes roll; you'll be under no pressure if you can get rid of that illusion.
[Dispel the Illusion] Pete: 10 (+1) SM: 5 (+2) Target: 9
With the lucky tattoo effect, means (and what a way to finish!):
SUCCESS OF ETERNAL LASER AWESOME! ***
You pause in your work to go over in your mind the death of Zev, working against the influence of the D.E.X. After a mental struggle, the illusory figure suddenly drops his accustaory glare and instead begins to smile, a little wistful; as if remembering your promise, a hat appears on his head. Though it was all a trick of the mind, you might let yourself believe that his spirit is at peace, if there is such a thing.
You feel a sense of well-being sweep over you, and any guilt you felt lifts. You also receive the perk (both for this and your general performance/reasoning throughout this boss encounter, the perk; Guardian Angel!
-) Whenever you find yourself staring death in the face, activate this perk. Roll a 4-sided die. If it matches the result I get from a six-sided die, then a miraculous escape will reveal itself. ***
It's over. With the waste pipes blocked, the feeding system destroyed, and the cooling system disabled the creature in it's glass container begins to twitch, then falls still. It's hold over your allies' minds lifts, and you are now free to leave the facility, and the swamps, behind. The four of you return to the Recovery Machine for one last touch-up before returning to the elevator, finding a grisly reminder that not everyone made it.
You carry the body up the ladder, to the office block where Blanka is waiting for you to return. You return to the emergency stairs and descend back into the parking lot, and out the shutter into the parking lot outside.
You load the truck and place Enigma's body in the back, putting the tarpaulin over him. There's little talk driving out of the centre of the swamp, back into the brook, and heading south downstream. After following the winding trail, you are able to get out of the swamp just as dusk sets in and you pick up the road soon enough, heading south toward Southhampton. You are all tired, though. You spot an occupied farm in the distance and make a decision; you'll camp there for the night, if the owners allow.
But first, you've got a dead friend to bury. You pick a soft patch of ground, away from the roadside, shaded by an elm tree, and dig a grave using whatever comes to hand. When it's time to say a few words, you realise that you didn't know him very well, or for very long; you also realise that you don't know each other very well, either, despite all the crap you've gone through. You bury him with his gun and his equipment; it seems like the right thing to do.
When it's done, you pack up and drive toward the farm. You knock on the door and are surprised to see it answered by a man with a shotgun, who saw your heavily-armed truck and thought the worst. After some clever negotiating (Politician) you are able to secure the barn beside the farm as a place to keep the truck and kip for the night, in return for helping with some chores tomorrow morning; there's some spare straw up in the loft of the barn.
So you're in the barn, either up in the loft or in the flatbed of the truck trying to get comfortable. Any chat before this chapter ends?

"I'd just like to apologise for the severe beatings you all received earlier. I also apologise for shooting you... two?" I'm really not sure if it counts as shooting Fire Bear or Starlong so I just apologise to both of them.
"Anyway, Fire Bear? Has today's ordeal changed anything, do you trust humans a little more? Would you mind telling us why you hate us so much?"
If Fire Bear still refuses to answer, I'll exhale loudly, mutter something about "not getting my bloody medal any time soon either", before grabbing a comfy piece of barn and going to sleep.
Speaking of which...

He's gone to bed Stewart... And I'd better be back in my own body... Cause if I'm not my answer to Pete's question is "NO!" Otherwise it's a disgruntled, "Hmph!"

Vinny rolled over and tried to get to sleep, muttering just loud enough for the others to hear, "...still say we should've taken that scoped pistol, not like Corpsey McFallsdownthings is gonna need it anymore..."

Hmm, depending on who's body I'm in dictates what I'll do.
For example, if Fire Bear is still in Starlong's body, she'd just fall asleep, right?
If not, she'd like to talk to people who are still awake and will probably stand guard just - in case...

Everyone is back to where they should be, body-wise.

And thus does an eventful day come to an end (I can't believe that all happened in a day).
Starlong reaches into his pocket and pulls out a letter, sealed in an envelope. It's addressed to a Madame Veronica, based in Paris. He contemplates opening it before replacing it in his jacket, then takes his hat and places it over his eyes, to sleep.
Fire Bear has another stab at opening her ammed locket, which has a busted mechanism. She fails, shrugs, and settles down to sleep.
Pete is rolling around and mumbling. He is having a nightmare; something about giant medals trying to eat him.
Vinny, too, seems to be having bad dreams; the ghost of Corpsey McFallsdownthings demanding an apology and, of course, not getting one.
Blanka dreams of whatever the hell it dogs dream of. Bones, postmen, and other dogs, probably.
Phew. [CHAPTER END]
