[Previously, on Cr@p...]
-) Starlong, Fire Bear, and Enigma meet in a tavern and decide to tackle the Rainbow Road; at the end of which there is said to rest the last surviving example of a working N64 w/ Mario Kart. They leave the tavern after Starlong manages to get himself a sledgehammer-induced concussion. They also manage to drag a poor old drunk along with them by accident.
-) On Fire Bear's suggestion they head for a Brothel in which one of her 'friends' works as a chef. Before they could enter, a naked man crashes through a top floor window and lands upon Starlong, who nearly loses his hat. The naked man then joins them; his name is Pete.
-) Inside the brothel, Fire Bear's contact for horses turns out to be a raving lunatic who attacks her. Meanwhile, Starlong ventures upstairs to find a new weapon and manages to destroy not just the Brothel but half the city by triggering a boulder trap; but he got a snake-skin whip for the trouble so that's alright.
-) Arwen, Fire Bear's friend, ceases her assault and wanders half-blind with rage down the street. Fortunately they found surviving horses in the ruins of the stables next to the brothel and just took those. They then set out of the city and found the Broken Roads, which will take them south toward the coast.
-) Along the way, they were ambushed by bandits in a Toyota pick-up truck. Hiding in the ditch off to the side, and using their appointed leader Fire Bear as bait, the party sprung an ambush of their own and managed to kill all but one of the bandit arty, taking the last hostage. Now in possession of a truck with a Heavy-MG mounted on the back, they learn of a bandit HQ from their prisoner and drive to it; a farmhouse on a hill.
-) They then stage a not so stealthy approach the house, finding that the bandit had lied to them about it being deserted...but this did not matter on account of all the bandits there being utterly, utterly dead. Upstairs the party find the monk Moemeisetr, who ahd cleared the place out just before their arrival. After a misunderstanding involving fists, he joins the team on their epic (fail) quest.
-) Now they have prepared for the journey ahead. The modified Toyboata stands ready, they have supplies, and are well-rested with many companions to 'rely' upon.

Chapter 2: Parting of the Ways
The morning arrives with a southern wind that whistles and howls through the gaps of the house you've sheltered in. There is a fresh chill in the air and outside the sky is a light grey. The weather is clear.
Congratulations. You've survived a night's sleep without getting yourselves killed.
Downstairs in the garage, the Toyboata is fully fuelled and ready to go. Starlong, Fire Bear, Enigma, Pete, and Moe gather downstairs in the kitchen; where the sawn-off bandit is still slumbering next to the oven, which he has been tied to.
You all sit down and have breakfast; dried leftovers of last night's meal. There's a strange atmosphere in the kitchen as you eat. It is almost as if something isn't being said...
