Hmm...
How about Christmas crackers?
In fact, there's a thought! Why don't we go somewhere with Christmas crackers? ;D

Why don't we buy Xmas Crackers and be really loud in the lounge. Speaking of which, who is actually on board with that being our Xmas Party Plan? (Which is much easier to say than "Proper Potter Puppet Pals".)

I don't really mind where we go or what we do... Although, by bringing in food what do you have in mind? Cause I would end up bringing in enough to feed myself (ie. sandwiches, packet of crisps and something to drink) which isn't very Christmassy and would be rather pointless, seeing as I do that every week and wouldn't feel all that special. Which is what the night out is kind of about - doing something different and fun to put us in the mood for Christmas (or the summer holidays when that comes around). Staying in the Lounge would just feel like a normal meeting (especially since hardly anyone's been bringing in pieces recently...)
However, it would be cheaper...

First of all, people do need to start bringing in more pieces. I like being a social club, but we still have an aim in mind. I fully agree with you on that point. Secondly, you wouldn't be allowed to bring in something just for yourself. The idea would be that we all contribute a dish that we think everyone else would like and bring plenty of it. Keep it simple, keep it classy and keep it gay. Wait, no, that's for putting on a stage musical. I meant to say, keep it simple, make it Christmassy (or not, I mean we usually go to a Chinese restaurant.), and bring large quantities. Third, this wouldn't be a regular meeting. Sure it would be the regular meeting place, but I doubt anything writers related would be involved other than the people and our collective hobbies. Board games, a Wii and lots of being silly would all be on the cards. And cards, obviously there would be cards. To up the specialness of the occasion, we could even attack the lounge with Christmas decorations. Assuming that the union won't already do that for us. That's my argument, now it's up to you lot.

The Union does HAVE decorations, and they should be at the desposal of Clubs should they want them. The actual decorating (and putting away therefore) would probably be up to us, but effort=rewards

So many ideas! If only we could visit all of them. Wait, we could! But let's not...
Before the next meeting, email or text me a place they'd like to go to, and we'll put it to a vote at the start of the meeting.
For the time being, I can only think of one place: Wagamama, a japanese place on West George Street, decent prices, excellent foods.
If we can't agree on anywhere, then yes, I could check with the Union and see what they're like with us bringing our own foods into the Union. Who knows? We could even combine it with a game / karaoke night!

Why not? Karaoke is fun! Don't you remember being able to have fun, woman?

Guys, stop arguing. Karaoke is optional. Always has been, always will be. If you don't want to sing, you don't have to. If you don't want to listen, you don't have to be in the same room. To each their own.

What do you do if you don't actually mind/care what happens and you'll turn up regardless? Do you text/e-mail el presidente or do we just leave it?

Why not? Karaoke is fun! Don't you remember being able to have fun, woman? You have a very strange notion of fun.
