My friend Nicola has won four silver tickets to this event, the SFX Weekender
However, neither her, nor I can afford the additional costs of the weekend (accommodation is half paid for, leaving £75 per person still, plus travel - food, etc), therefore she asked me to ask if you guys want them. From the looks of it, it'll be a fairly expensive weekend but these tickets are giving a substantial discount on that.
Time is of the essence here, so please tell other Writers/ Terry Pratchett Guild members about this
I can forward any information you need, but here's what I know already:
Website: www.sfxweekender.com/
Brief description:
100 sets of SFX Weekender passes to win in an exclusive competition for Cineworld Unlimited Card holders.
The SFX Weekender is back! 2,500 sci-fi fans, four main events, exclusive screenings, tons of prizes, loads of live guests...one amazing weekend at Pontin's Holiday Park Camber Sands, 4th-5th February 2011.
Attend the SFX Awards 2011, hosted by top sci-fi author Robert Rankin!
Compete in the famous SFX Blastermind Quiz to become the champion of sci-fi knowledge!
Dance the night away at the Maskerade Ball and experience the SFX Imaginarium, the ultimate sci-fi stage show!
There'll be top celebrity guests attending including Sir Terry Pratchett (Discworld author), Anthony Head (Buffy and Merlin), George Takei (Star Trek's Mr Sulu and star of Heroes), Keely Hawes (Ashes to Ashes) and Craig Charles (Red Dwarf). Plus author panels, film premieres, exclusive footage, live Q&A sessions and guest star talks, comic workshops, music and video gaming.
Further description of the cost:
You’ve won four full weekend passes to our SFX Weekender, at Pontins, Camber Sands, East Sussex .
Expenses and accommodation are not included, but we do offer almost 50% discount to our competition winners on accommodation.
So the link I have sent will show Potins price not our ticket winners price.
Our prices are basically £60 per person for a Silver Chalet for the full weekend based on 4 sharing, obviously if there is more or less people the prices change in your favour.
Its £10 per person extra for a Gold standard upgrade.
If a group of four emerges that want to go, then tickets are yours. If more than four emerge, then I can draw straws or something, I dunno.
