Probably not the name I'll use for it, but-
Due to the distinct lack of jobs out there (not even McDonalds are hiring for God's sake) I have decided to take the advice of some newspaper I read a while ago that ran an article saying young people nowadays are making their living via the Internet. My plan is thus:
-) To set up an online business that establishes a correspondence between myself (probably under an alias) and hopeful writers out there looking for professional critique, personalised reading lists, and/or general tutelage.
The selling point for this is that I'm an English graduate studying creative writing for a Masters and that I'm a member of Strathclyde University's Writer's Society. I'll be playing the angle that I can provide more in-depth analysis than random folk over a forum on a writers website like Secret Attic, etc. Basically I'm trying to set myself up as a self-employed tutor that doesn't have to come round to your house.
What I'm asking from you guys is help setting up a website for it. I've been doing some research but the technical stuff might need someone with a bit of experience and the right software to get it launched and searchable via search engines. In return, the modest proceeds (just a couple of pound per critique/lesson, a little more for entire manuscripts) from this venture will probably result in drinks for folk. Or a good laugh if it all goes horribly wrong. Now, who's up for loosing me on the good folk of the Internet?!
