As some of you may have heard, the university is proposing some horrendous changes to it's structure. The Ramshorn Theatre is to be closed in just under two months, the Collins Gallery is also to be closed and the position of music director is also to be abolished. The wider ramifications of this would affect not only the newly formed Re-Act group and the existing STG, but also the choir, orchestra and bands that are run within the university. One of the contributing factors to the changes is apparently a lack of interest from staff and students. This seems rather ridiculous, since I'm sure there are engineers and scientists that have an active interest in music and the theatre. As such, I'm making an appeal to the society to sign this petition: www.petitiononline.co.uk/petition/save-the-ramshorn-theatre-glasgow-from-closure/2684Oppose the changes and do your part to make sure the university doesn't regress.
