So the Writers' Society is no more. Can we, like, hold a memorial for it? Even though I've been out for almost a year now, I do kinda miss it.
We should share our favorite memories of the society, or something suitably cheesy like that. That would be doing right by it...
RIP buddy.

It's only dead in so far as we won't be physically meeting any more. That is to say, not in an official capacity. But if we keep this forum maintained and continue to submit work for critiquing, then I don't see why we can't maintain a strong online community. There was a good attempt at making this forum about work as much as it was about stupid stuff we found on the internet. If we put in a little more effort, this could act as a good surrogate.
How about reformatting the site and putting an emphasis on writing. Where we currently have several threads for general topics and one thread for work, how about we condense the general threads and set up a new thread for each of the basic genres? This is just one idea, of course. If other people can think of different ways to keep the site and by extension the group alive, I'd love to hear them.
Of course, this could be a pretty tall order. I don't know how much work is required to maintain this site. For all I know, it requires 36 working hours per week just to keep the news wrong let alone up to date. Is there anyone willing to keep things going? Is it too difficult or is it so blasted easy that fifteen minutes with Google and an admin password could see even someone like me master it?
The way I see it, this doesn't have to be the end, but rather the next stage in our evolution.
...
That sounded like the bad set-up for a movie's sequel, didn't it?

Or a villain's motivational speech. Or hero's. Though I'm not sure if hero's would go on about evolving...
Anyway, when I remember/can be bothered/amn't doing something else when I remember, I'll post some stories I don't believe I got the chance to take to meetings.
Also, we should probably post something on the Facebook group about this, just so's people see this. (They may not be regularly checking, unlike the sad git I am.)
