"Holy Shit Enigma... That wa some crazy ass awesome driving!" I congratulate him with a hearty slap on the shoulder.
I disembark and test the solidness of the immeidiately surrounding terrain to ensure that it's not too marshy itself.
"Hrmmm, we might find tyres faster if we split up. Good a time as any to try out those walkie talkies we found..."

I swear to every possible deity, including Bondye, Lord Xenu and Atheismo that I will shoot the first person to suggest that "we all split up." I shit you not.
Otherwise I suggest we give that old toll-booth a quick once over for ancient coins or the like.
Sorry, Starlong, did you say something whilst I was composing my thoughts?

"Hail Atheismo," Vinny said dryly at Pete's outburst. He was more than happy to support the idea of staying in as large a group as possible.
He hopped out of the truck and bent to examine the wheels. "The truck ain't a total dead loss... but we'll need tyres to get it any further. Don't suppose anyone can see a handy garage nearby?"

Guys, quick update on perks. Enigma now has this perk to balance his character based on his idea:
Enigma: New Perk! But I'm A Pacifist-!: Whenever this character attempts to engage in violence, a severe moral objection to violence in general must be overcome to inflict the Hurt. Character must roll for a Pacifism Check (like a hat check or similar) AND he must go for incapacitating shots, wounding shots, clever shots that utilise the terrain to disarm foes, etc. This perk does not apply when:
a) The target for the Hurt is a monster or a morally evil NPC. When this is the case, the monster or evil NPC will be marked accordingly (though monsters are easy to identify, a 'morally-evil' NPC is not. In this case, the pacifism check will be enforced until the morality of the target is somehow identified.)
b) An ally's life is in immediate danger. When this is the case, the roll will be marked accordingly, allowing you to bypass the Pacifism check.
[Also, I've updated the RP Stat Tracker. There are a number of perks, items, and abilities/aptitudes that have thus far gone unused. I recommend you familiarise yourself with what you don't know/have forgotten now as some of them will come in handy over this chapter and beyond. I've also added a 'weapon's log' so give it a once-over; you might find some useful info.
Also, Vinny does not appear to have a weapon. Perhaps you should provide him with one?]

OK, give Vinny the spare revolver.
And checking out the toll booth as a group, first, would be the best course of action. If we can't find what we need, I suppose splitting up is the next best option...

So you're checking out the tollbooth?

Pete rests his hand on his revolver.
"Firstly, no more talk of splitting up. It implies we'll be in small bunches scattered over the swamp and that's an open invitation to urban legend clichés. Could we instead agree upon two teams of significantly large numbers, one of which garrisons the truck whilst the others very carefully scout out the immediate area?
Secondly, Fire Bear, do you mean the old rusty revolver we found at the house? The one that looks like it'll explode into flying tetanus chunks as soon as someone tries to fire it? The one we all suspected would be handy to take but would probably be useless as an actual firearm? That one?"

I don't know! I just looked at the weapon log and it says we have a spare revolver. "Spare" implied to me that there's no-one using it.
And if someone is to watch the truck, let that be Enigma and me cause he's away and I will be soon? We'll honk the horn if we get into trouble.
And yes, GM, we are checking out the tollbooth.

Starlong was given a spare revolver by Enigma at the start. When he got the snake-skin whip, there was no mention that he discarded the spare revolver and, as far as I know, he still has it. He'll need it to activate his 'Just Shoot 'em' ability (a Sawn-off will not work with this ability); one of you could forfeit the use of this ability temporarily to give Vinny your gun...or one of you could equip the rusty revolver and, well, pray.

Well, give him the sawn-off then...

Or we could force Starlong to give up the Sawn-Off for a little while, seeing as it's superfluous to his perks.
Oh, and the chat feature we now have on the forum works. Given the number of people logged in it would make this RP fly by. We'd just have to make official posts rather than every little bit of discussion.

See you in there now then.
[Quick note, I've added a new part to the RP Stat Tracker for storage. This'll let you know what you have in your truck. When it's done, it'll have a capacity of 15 items so you can choose to store some of your kit in here. Bear in mind that large obects (like the MG and the horse scenario, say) will not be counted as 'items'; it's not a magic truck. Also remember that if you lose your truck for any reason, then you'll also lose any stuff you stored in it so be careful; you never know what's round the corner.]

Vinny looked back and forth between Fire Bear and Pete, growing more nervous by the second. "I'd just like to put a veto on giving me anything that's in danger of exploding," he put in. He visibly perked up at the idea of someone giving him a sawn-off shotgun, though.
