"I don't have enough money for what I want, unfortunately. If I can get more, I'll come back to buy it..."
Fire Bear then leaves and heads to the pharmacy to see what's there.

~~Tsunami~~
[Counter] Tsu: 15 SM: 5 (-1) Target: 14 [Success]
You are able to get a hold of El Rey and turn his momentum against him. You leap in the air and crash him down onto the ground with a spinning powerbomb that pretty much knocks the guy out. You go for the pinfall and it's several seconds before someone in the crowd wanders over and does a lazy three-count. You've won! You help El Rey to his feet and the two of you shake hands. You both follow the clerk back into the building, where he grudgingly drafts up the contract with the fee waived.
"Here," he sighs, handing you the contract. "Hope he gets you killed or something."
You are now responsible for El Rey, who is under contract to follow you around until the journey is over. Here are his stats:
New Character!
El Rey
Job: Wrestler (Face)
Job Aptitude: Athlete Superstar: Injury is part and parcel of the Wrestler’s world and a little experience in the ring has taught a special kind of toughness. This character reduces injury penalties by 1SM.
Job Sucktitude: Scripted Fighter: This guy just can’t leave his Kayfabian days behind him. When prompted, roll for a Kayfabe check. If failed, the character purposely makes a mistake and hands the advantage over to the opponent.
Special Abilities: Special Ability 1: Wrestler Arts: Can only be activated once per chapter. When activated, the GM rolls a 20-sided dice. Depending on the outcome, a wrestling move with a specific effect will be inflicted on the targeted enemy. The moves are listed: 1) Hurricanrana: Instant Kill, regardless. El Rey gains a perk depending on the target. 2-5) The Money-Shot: An enemy is trapped under El Rey and the party gain 500g. 6-10) Cobra Clutch: An enemy is clinched. El Rey then has the option of recruiting the clinched enemy by passing a difficult Cobra Recruitment Check. 11-15) Stone-Cold Stunner: Need to talk to them afterward? The Stone-Cold Stunner will KO an enemy, but not kill him. 16-20) Suplex of Sanctimony: Powerful Suplex creates a tremor that knocks enemies and allies from their feet. Does not affect El Rey. The person used in the Suplex is KO’d.
Perks -) Entrance Music: Whenever this character enters a building, he kind of has to announce it. Whenever this character enters a building, everyone inside instantly knows he is there.
-) High-Flyer: This character loves to jump off of things. When this character attempts an air-borne manoeuvre no injury will result, even if a Fail or Epic Fail is rolled.
-) Under Contract: This character will follow the party until dismissed, dead, or otherwise incapacitated. Loyalty and ethics are not an issue.
So, now that you have a wrestling buddy what do you do now?

The pharmacy is where you can buy medicines. You enter the sanitised store and approach the counter, where a jittery gent is staring longingly at the bottles arrayed on the shelves of the shop. You sna your fingers under his nose and he comes to, looking bewildered as if you'd suddenly popped into existence.
"Yes, sir! Madam! Always open for business you're new here aren't you I can always tell time to sell, sell, sell! What are you buying?"
Pharmacy -) F-Aid Kit: 100g -) Serum: 50g -) Turbo: 500g -) Hydra: 500g -) Resus-Kit: 2000g

Deiter looks at the two of you for a while and then rises from his seat. He walks over to the window and looks out of it for a while, onto the hangar beyond.
"I'm afraid it's not as simple as that," he says, then turns. "Sorry to be a bother, but could you follow me one more time? I have to show you something."
You look at each other and then rise out of your seats. One of you moves to take the papers but Deiter tells you to leave them where they are as you'll be coming back up to this office in a minute. You follow him out the door, where security men are waiting to escort the three of you. Deiter informs them that youre all heading for the main hangar, and they walk with you the entire way, down some stairs and to a large blast-door. There's an exchange of I.D. and passwords, and they take your weapons to place into storage before the doors are opened, and they slide apart with a hiss. Beyond is the hangar, and you follow Deiter through the open blast doors. They slam shut behind you.
"This is what I want you to see," says Deiter over his shoulder as you pass a tower of machinery that looks like a cooling unit. Passing by it, you come to the hub of the hangar, where all the catwalks, wires, tubes, and machines inevitably connect. As you stare up at the occupant of the large glass tank suspended by pylons ten feet from the floor, Deiter turns to you and with a morose flourish introduces you to the D.E.X 411.
What do you do?

"Hm, 9 F-Aid Kits and a serum, please."
[That's one for every character + the rather cheap serum. Which leaves us with just less than half of our remaining money.]
With that bought, Fire Bear wanders off to the weapons and protective shop (or whatever it's called) for a gander...

(I rest my hand over controller port 1, ready to switch the controller to port 2 at a moments notice.)
I turn to Deiter, a mixture of pure rage and fear in my eyes. Somewhere deep inside me, something snaps. With a calm, guttural growl, I say:
"Do you know what the hell that thing is, what it can do? What is it doing down here? You better have a damn good explanation or I will kill you where you stand, weapons or no weapons."
All hope I had for humanity and our ability to learn from our mistakes has been destroyed. This marks the last time I give anyone the benefit of the doubt and ignore my gut feeling.

I stare silently at the Dex and the the colour drains from my face.
I place a hand on Pete's shoulder and nervously shake my head briskly at him.
I then look at Deiter, and in a quiet croaky voice I say "Let's go back to your office."

Deiter complies and you head back up to his office, to the annoyance of the security men who just let you through. They give you back your equipment and escort you grudgingly back up to the office. Once there, Deiter takes a seat at his desk again and goes through the papers one more time.
"We discovered this place after drilling down through the B1 floor after we initially failed to get the elevator to function," he begins to explain. "When we found this laboratory, the machinery and the organism housed inside were defunct but preserved. Long story short, the President got in touch with some companies specialising in bio-research and we started a joint-project to resurrect the D.E.X; if we succeed, we'll be able to provide an abundance of electrical power to the entire city indefinitely."
Deiter explains that D.E.X organisms differ in function and while they look similar they are in fact completely different. The D.E.X you destroyed was designed to establish emphatic links with insect populations, such as honey bees, and help manage their numbers for the benefit of the eco-system. It did not end well. The D.E.X stored here in the society, however, has been designed to act as a giant living generator, throwing out terrawatts of bio-electric power by processing bio-mass.
"It's like farming," says Deiter, looking utterly wretched. "We put...biomass in one end, drain the power it generates, then clear away the waste at the other end. The tests have been successful. Soon we're going to use the energy to start developing the city, bring back the old technologies that were too power-hungry to maintain before. It'll be better for people. We'll be able to re-open the advanced wards in the hospitals, run super-computers for simulations and for research, keep every home lit and heated. Hell, we...we-"
And then for some reason he breaks down, sobbing. There's something else going on here. To get it out of him, you'll have to convince him to talk. One way or another. Or you could just take the money and walk.

Right-o. You hit the weapons store next. Inside it looks much like an off-license, with a cage mesh guarding the till and bullet-proof glass. There is an electric lock on the front door that can be activated from the counter and security guard stands watch, keeping an eye on both you and the shady gent who appears to be testing the weight of a machete. You approach the counter and ask him what's on offer.

Vinny, having slept in, eventually leaves the Adventurer's Society and wanders over to the Weapons Store, pleasantly surprised to find Fire Bear and Blanka already there.
"Hmm, I could really use that Marksman's Wristband... how much cash we got left?" he asks Fire Bear.

Fire Bear sighs. She had been wondering if it would work with a bow...
However:
"We have 888g left - that's enough for one. Just now at any rate. Pete and Starlong are currently working on getting more money from the Adventurer's Society."
Then she waits while Vinny decides whether or not to buy it.

Vinny thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Well, it's not an essential purchase if we're running short. I'm happy to wait and see how if those two can boost the finances."

The weapons dealer, overhearing your conversation, presents to you a proposition.
"If you folk are interested in making some bucks, you could do me a favour and deliver an order to one of my clients across town. I could kick a few surplus items your way and 1000g. How 'bout it?"
The job is to take a munitions box to another weapon's store just down the street and and it over at the counter. Easy money and it won't take you a second. Do you accept?

Myself and Pete exchange a glance and a sudden and universal understanding emerges between us. We want information from this man, and there are two of us.
"Hey, come on now, we can help. Tell us what it is" I say, placing a comforting arm on Deiter's shoulder.

Fuck yes.
Your attempt to comfort and extract information has gone slightly awry. After declaring that he can never forgive himself, Deiter pulls the gun from your holster and before you can do anything he has blown his own brains out. All over you. With your gun. And the two security guards outside have heard the shot and are rattling the door handle. Fortunately, Deiter had locked the door after you'd all went in which will buy you some time. In any case, you are now on a high-security floor, the head-researcher is dead (no witnesses to the suicide aside from yourselves, guess how that'll look), you're more or less trapped with two highly trained and armed security men on the other side of the door, the elevator requires biometrics (eye-print), a password, and a keycard to operate, and on top of all that you have bits of brain and skull stuck to your clothes. Wonderful. Anyway gentlemen, and I'm dying to hear the answer to this one, what do you do?
~~Blanka, Fire Bear, & Vinny~~
You take the box and exit the store. You find the other weapons store just down the road, and it's full of bustle. It must be doing a lot better than the rival store. After pushing your way to the counter you put the box on it and slide it across to the owner, who takes it and asks what it is. You tell him that it is a delivery and leave the store. After exiting, you start walking up the street and are then thrown from your feet by the force of a powerful blast. The weapons store you made the delivery to has been decimated, and flames are gushing from the windows and door, which have been completely blasted out. There is screaming and by the time the three of you have recovered from the blast the distant call of sirens is in the air. Standing, some of the witnesses to the bombing have also recovered and are pointing at the three of you as they shout angrily at some police officers who were nearby and who dashed to the scene. They look over at you and start to march over, hands resting on the handles of their pistols. What do you do?
Also, Tsu, what's your next move?
